The Daily Ubuntu – 9 Oct 2012

The Daily Ubuntu is a collection of Celtics-related news and columns from around the intarwebs, just so that you keep in touch with our favourite green team.

Today’s edition features a lot of love for rookie Sullinger – unsurprising given his outstanding performane in the Milan preseason game.

Sullinger could be key for Celtics – NBA Hangtime

John Schuhmann talks about why Sullinger is such a great fit for the C’s – rebounding, and paint work.

Jared Sullinger’s basketball IQ impressing Boston Celtics: ‘It’s easy to play with those guys,’ he says – MassLive

Jay King does his Sullinger piece. I like this Rondo quote:

“His IQ is so high,” Rajon Rondo said. “You throw him in the starting lineup and he made plays for us. He did the little things, as far as even outlet passes. I don’t take it for granted because not a lot of bigs are able to throw those kind of passes.”

It speaks volumes that Rondo offers such high praise for a rookie. You don’t see him dishing compliments the way he passes, so Sullinger apparently impresses him quite a bit.

Jared Sullinger is not Glen Davis – WEEI

It’s all too easy to compare Sullinger to Big Baby, given the physical similarities. The differences in their game couldn’t be more different though, as Paul Flannery points out in this column.

If you haven’t read it, check out my piece on why putting Sullinger into the starting lineup is a good idea.

Some pretty photos to break the monotony up. Red’s Army has an excellent gallery of the Milan game, check it out.

Darko’s immediate impact – ESPN Boston

A great piece on Darko’s defensive impact in the Milan game. So long as he continues to work hard on defense, I see some hope for him in the lineup. Man mountain ahoy!

That’s all for today folks, have fun and I’ll see you soon.
