The 2012/13 NBA season did not pan out the way it was supposed to for the Boston Celtics. One positive we can take away from the season was the shoe game of many Celtics. They stood up in the kick department and showed us some heat.
To celebrate this season’s best kicks, I have selected the best 16 kicks from the weekly Green Kick Of The Week to battle it out. It is now up to you, our readers who will crown the Green Kick of the Season!

The Playoffs are here! And with that, I hope to see some awesome kicks coming up. This week we saw Jason Terry bring out a great pair of kicks against the Knicks in Game 1.
This weeks winner of KOTW is Jason Terry and his awesome Reebok Kamikaze II’s. Terry has been wearing Kamikaze’s for a majority of the season, but this colourway caught my eye.
Let’s not beat around the bush, Terry had an awful match against the Knicks. He was a non-factor and couldn’t find his range. I hope he can find his 2011 Playoffs form soon, before it’s too late.
His shoe game was much better. These kicks look great. I really like Kamikaze’s and this colourway is one of the best I’ve seen. The green and black outer go together well with the unique design of the shoe.
Of course, I’d rather be writing about Terry coming into his own in the Playoffs, but for now, his shoe game is better than his shooting game.
I look forward to seeing what the JET can produce in the Playoffs and I’m hoping we see him drain many shots from beyond the arc.
The Playoffs are almost here and I can hardly wait! With just six regular season games remaining for the Celtics, and a Playoff spot clinched, it’s hard not to look ahead. The play becomes very intense, and I hope the sneaker game does the same.
For now, I’ll take a look back at the pair of kicks that caught my eye from the past week.
This week’s winner of KOTW is Avery Bradley and his Adidas Crazy Quick’s. This was Avery’s first game in the recently released Crazy Quick’s. These kicks were debuted by Washington point guard, John Wall, about a month ago.
Bradley wore these in the disappointing loss to Cleveland earlier today. Interestingly, he only wore them in the first half and changed to a grey pair of Adidas AdiZero Crazy Light 2′s for the second half.
Does this mean we won’t see them again? We’ll find out soon enough, but I certainly hope we see them again.
These are built for the quick basketballer:
“From making explosive cuts into the lane, grabbing a loose ball or being a lock-down defender, quick is the key to elevating to the next level,” says Robbie Fuller, adidas advanced footwear designer. “We designed the Crazy Quick with athletes in mind. Every player needs to be quick to out-perform the competition and this shoe gives them a unique advantage.” – slamonline.com
Below is a close up of the Adidas Crazy Quick colourway made specifically for John Wall.
I really like these kicks. Bradley wore the plainer white colourway, I would love to see him rock a green colourway.
Do you think Bradley’s on a winner with these kicks? Do you think ‘The Game Changer’ should keep ’em, or dump ’em?
Terrence Williams has been knocking on the door to win KOTW since his arrival to the Celtics. This week I decided it was about time he got some credit.
This week Williams wins KOTW with his Air Jordan XX8’s. He has worn these kicks since joining the team in mid February.
Williams has worn the green colourway for home games and often the black colourway for away games. These kicks were one of the biggest releases of this year, and certainly made some noise in the kicks world. The XX8’s are one of the most unusual shoes ever made.
They can be worn in two ways; zipped up or unzipped. Williams has been wearing them zipped up, I personally like them better zipped down.
Williams is a huge sneaker head, with rumours he owns over 300 pairs of kicks. WOW! I would love to see him bring out a different pair of Jordan’s, but for the time being, it seems he is quite content with the XX8’s.
Do you like these Jordan’s zipped up or unzipped? Do you think Terrence Williams should keep ’em, or dump ’em?
It’s that time of the week again to take a look back at who caught my eye in the kicks department in the past week.
This weeks winner of KOTW is Jordan Crawford and his pair of ‘Light Graphite’ Air Jordan 14’s. It’s great to see a few of the new Celtic’s taking a lot of care with their choice of shoes. Terrence Williams, for example has been rocking the Air Jordan XX8’s since joining the team.
These are a different looking shoe, which definitely caught my eye from the moment I saw Crawford rocking them.
These are not my favourite Jordan’s, but I can see why many people do like them. The grey outer combined with a nubuck upper and black highlights doesn’t disappoint the Jordan enthusiast.
Crawford has worn these kicks on and off for a while now, but I thought it was about time to give him some credit. He wore them this week against the Hornets. These shoes look fast, which is the perfect fit for Crawford and his quick drives to the basket and pull up jumpers.
I’m sure we’ll see Crawford wearing these again, don’t be surprised if he pulls them on today against the Grizzlies.
What do you think of these kicks? Do you think Jordan Crawford should keep ’em or dump ’em?
As the Celtics look forward to playing Miami tomorrow, and hopefully breaking their 22 game winning streak, I’ll be looking back at the best pair of kicks of the past week.
This weeks winner of KOTW is Courtney Lee with his awesome pair of Air Jordan VII ‘Golden Moments’. These kicks looked great with the amazing St. Patrick’s Day uniform.
Lee has been rocking Nike’s and Jordan’s all season. He has been wearing many retro’s, along with some newer kicks. This particular pair and his Nike Air Penny V’s, which he wore earlier in the season, have caught my eye the most this season.
Lee looked very comfortable in these shoes. He put together a nice game, filling the stat sheet with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a well-rounded effort.
Fans with a good memory might remember that Jared Sullinger wore these for media day photos before the start of this season. From memory, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t think Sullinger ever wore these on the court, so it was nice to see Lee bring them out against Charlotte.
These Jordan’s are a favourite of mine, and I can definitely see why Lee chose to wear these against the Bobcats on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day. I really like the simple black outer with the gold lining.
What are your thoughts on these Jordan’s? Do you think Courtney Lee should keep ’em or dump ’em?
Let’s face the facts. Jason Terry did exactly what we expect from him in the fantastic OT win over Hawks; hit a game clinching shot! The JET truly took off in OT and helped the Celtics record a much-needed win over a Conference rival.
The JET did all this in an eye-catching pair of Reebok Sublite Pro Rise, which earned him this week’s KOTW. These kicks jumped out at me immediately. They feature a camouflage outer mixed with what looks like fighter jet detailing, which makes perfect sense that the JET would wear them.
To be perfectly honest I’m not much of an expert on Reebook’s and couldn’t figure out what Terry was wearing. I have to thank @Celtkicks from Red’s Army for the heads up!
This is an amazing colourway to say the least. Reebok have done a great job with Terry this season, supplying him with a large array of retro and modern kicks to rock on the court.
The JET has worn many different Reebok’s this season and won KOTW earlier this year with his Reebok Answer IV’s. Whilst the Answer IV’s have much more history and are known for their uniqueness, this colourway of the Sublite Pro Rise gives them a good run for their money.
It will be interesting to see if Terry brings out this colourway again, I sure hope he does! Especially if can continue to knock down huge shots in them.
What are your thoughts on this interesting colourway? Do you think The JET should keep ’em or dump ’em?
